Decompression Illness (DCI) Explained
If you have had previously had inner ear decompression sickness and are interested in taking part in research, please email the lead researcher Rosanna Stokes including any information you have about your dive injury.
We will be undertaking balance and vestibular clinical/ laboratory testing along with MRI scanning. If any deficits are picked up, we will offer advice on vestibular rehabilitation exercises that may help with your recovery. The aim of this study is to understand more about the long-term effects of the injury – it is purely research and not an assessment of your fitness to dive. A full explanation will be provided in a Participant Information Booklet which will be sent to you if you are interested in taking part.
